Lipid localization and lipid-protein interaction studied in living cells

The Schultz group will contribute to the Transregio by synthesizing an extended set of membrane-permeant, photo-crosslinkable and photoactivatable lipids including phosphoinositides and diacylglycerols with a special focus on the variation of the fatty acid composition. With the new tools, we will look for the role of these lipids in mitosis. We will provide these lipid derivatives to a significant number of other projects in all three locations of the Transregio 83.
